GENEVA, N.Y.—Hobart College sophomore Keith Longo (Hopedale, Mass.) was named the ECAC West Hockey Goaltender of the Week today, while first-year teammate Aleksey Koval (Kiev, Ukraine) was named to the Weekly Honor Roll. The two helped the Statesmen to their first league win of the season last Saturday, defeating Elmira 4-1.

The win was also Longo’s first of the year in goal. He recorded 35 saves in the effort, allowing just one Elmira score. An ECAC West All-Rookie selection last season, Longo (1-1-0) currently owns a .938 save percentage and a 1.95 goals against average.

A forward, Koval has played in every game so far this season. He recorded his first collegiate point against the Soaring Eagles, tallying an assist on Hobart’s first goal of the game.

The Statesmen are ranked 11th in the nation by the USCHO.com poll, up from the 12th spot last week. They hold a 2-2-0 overall record and a 1-2-0 mark in the ECAC West. Hobart will be back in action on Nov. 17 when it hosts Wentworth at 7 p.m. at The Cooler.
