Mike Polsonetti

GENEVA, N.Y.—Hobart College senior Mike Polsonetti (Lynn, Mass.) was honored by the ECAC and Rochester Area Colleges Athletics (RACA) this week. He was named the ECAC West Player of the Week and the RACA Co-Male Athlete of the Week for his play in the Hobart ice hockey team’s 7-4 victory over Curry last Saturday.

The team captain, Polsonetti led the Statesmen past the Colonels, totaling four points in the 7-4 win. He scored two quick goals to kick-start Hobart’s offense in the first period, before adding two helpers, including one on the game-winning goal. A defenseman, Polsonetti has six goals on the season and currently leads the team in points (16) and assists (10). He ranks second in the nation in points per game by a defenseman (1.60).

The Statesmen hold a 6-2-2 overall record and are ranked 10th in Division III for the third week in a row. They will travel to Vermont to play in the Middlebury Tournament Dec. 31-Jan. 1.
