GENEVA, N.Y.—The Hobart College ice hockey team downed Curry College 7-4 in a non-league game this afternoon. The Statesmen improve to 6-2-2 overall, while the Colonels drop to 6-3-0.

Senior captain Mike Polsonetti (Lynn, Mass.) totaled two goals and two assists, while junior Brian Cibelli (Liverpool, N.Y.) tallied a goal and three assists to lead the Statesmen. Senior George Cademartori (Warrenville, Ill.) scored a goal and added two assists for the Colonels.

Polsonetti put the Statesmen on the board with two quick power-play goals in the first period. He netted both of his goals before the six minute mark, giving Hobart a 2-0 lead going into the first intermission. Cibelli and senior Conor Bradley (West Hartford, Conn.) recorded the helper on the first goal, while Bradley and classmate Mike Manos (North Andover, Mass.) assisted on the second.

Cibelli scored on another power play opportunity at 4:16 in the second period, assisted by Polsonetti and junior Shawn Houde (Manchester, N.H.). Just over a minute later, first-year Blake Bonham (Toronto, Ontario) tallied off passes from Cibelli and first-year Bobby Cahill (Famington Hills, Mich.) to give the Statesmen a 4-0 lead. Cademartori answered with an unassisted goal to put Curry on the board at 7:14.

Manos recorded the game-winner later in the second period, assisted by Polsonetti and Cibelli. Junior Eddie Chlanda (Central Islip, N.Y.) lit the light for the Colonels again in the 18th minute, cutting the lead to 5-2.

In the third stanza, senior Adam Scott (Manchester, Mass.) and Cahill both added insurance goals for Hobart, while first-years Ross Enmark (Shelby Township, Mich.) and Donald Rankin (Inverness, Ill.) each scored for the Colonels.

Junior goaltender Dimitri Papaevagelou (Winham, N.H.) earned his second win of the year, stopping 24 shots for the Statesmen, while rookie Zachary Cardella (Spokane, Wash.) took the loss after making 34 saves for Curry.

Tenth-ranked Hobart will be back in action on Dec. 31 when it travels to Vermont to play in the Middlebury Tournament.
