Statesmen skate past Williams, 8-1

GENEVA, N.Y.—Senior Conor Bradley (West Hartford, Conn.) totaled two goals and an assist to lead the Hobart College ice hockey team past Williams College 8-1 tonight at The Cooler. The Statesmen improve to 4-2-1 overall, while the Ephs drop to 1-2-0.
Senior Mike Polsonetti (Lynn, Mass.) contributed a goal and two assists for Hobart, while sophomore Andrew Brennan (Milford, Mass.) tallied three assists, and senior Mike Manos (North Andover, Mass.) added a goal and an assist. Sophomore Kirk Golden (Vail, Colo.) recorded his first goal of the year on what proved to be the game-winner. Also scoring for the Statesmen were junior Shawn Houde (Manchester, N.H.), sophomore Bryant Harris (Plainfield, N.H.), and first-year Blake Bonham (Toronto, Ontario).
Hobart’s first goal came from Bradley approximately five minutes into the first period, assisted by Brennan. Golden tallied next, less than a minute later following passes from seniors Adam Scott (Manchester, Mass.) and Aaron Laycock (Barrie, Ontario). With 11 minutes expired in the first period, the Ephs’ Kevin Colwell (Wellesley, Mass.) scored Williams’ lone goal of the night. The Statesmen took a 2-1 lead into the break and never looked back.
Bradley and Brennan teamed up for a score again in the second period, followed Polsonetti, unassisted. The Statesmen went on to score four more goals in the third. Junior Ted Brzek (Duxbury, Mass.) and first-year Bobby Cahill (Famington Hills, Mich.) both added assists for Hobart in the final stanza.
Sophomore goalkeeper Keith Longo (Hopedale, Mass.) stopped 26 shots for the Statesmen, while sophomore Rick Redmond (Winnetka, Ill.) recorded 42 for the Ephs.
Hobart will be back in action on Dec. 1 when it travels to Neumann for an ECAC West game at 7 p.m.
