GENEVA, N.Y.—Three Hobart College ice hockey student-athletes were recently named to the All-ECAC West Team. Senior Mike Polsonetti (Lynn, Mass.) was selected to the first team, while classmate Mike Manos (North Andover, Mass.) and junior Shawn Houde (Manchester, N.H.) were both voted to the second team.

Polsonetti ranked fourth on the team in points (22), tallying eight goals and 14 assists. One of the top defensemen in Division III, he ranked second in the league in defensemen scoring, averaging 1.10 points per game. The team captain was named the ECAC West Player of the Week and Rochester Area College Athletics (RACA) Male Athlete of the Week after tallying two goals and two assists in a win over Curry in December. Polsonetti finished his career with 17 goals and 33 assists in 50 games.

Also a standout defenseman, Manos showed his scoring abilities this winter with five goals and 12 assists, and ranked sixth in the ECAC West in scoring by a defenseman ( 0.65 ppg). Earlier in the season, Manos was named to the Middlebury Classic All-Tournament Team after helping the Statesmen to a 5-2 win over Trinity (Conn.) and a 3-3 overtime tie with defending national champion Middlebury. He closed out his collegiate career with nine goals and 25 assists in 78 games.

Houde, a forward, led the team in goals this season with 16, and ranked second in points (26). He was named the league’s Player of the Week after scoring two goals in a crucial 5-1 win over league rival Utica, and earned a spot on the Weekly Honor Roll after netting a hat-trick in a 7-2 win over Brockport.

Hobart posted its fifth consecutive winning season with a 13-8-5 record. The Statesmen went unbeaten in non-conference play for the first time in the program’s history, and registered a record 13-game unbeaten streak.
