GENEVA, N.Y.—The Hobart College ice hockey team is ranked 12th in Division III according to this week’s USCHO.com poll. The Statesmen moved up one spot after recording a tie and a win against Lebanon Valley College last weekend. With four regular season games left, Hobart holds an 11-5-5 overall record and is 3-5-3 in the ECAC West.

The Statesmen have posted a record-breaking winter so far. They completed their non-conference schedule with an unbeaten 8-0-2 mark, a Hobart hockey first, and shattered another program record, going undefeated for 13-straight games. The previous record was eight in a row, matched in 2004-05 and 2005-06.

Hobart boasts a balanced offense with 11 players that have 10 or more points. Senior Conor Bradley (West Hartford, Conn.) leads the team in all offensive categories with 13 goals, including five on the power play, and 16 assists for 29 points. Senior Mike Polsonetti (Lynn, Mass.), sophomore Andrew Brennan (Milford, Mass.), and senior Mike Manos (North Andover, Mass.) sit atop the league in defensemen scoring, ranking third, fourth, and fifth, respectively.

In goal, sophomore Keith Longo (Hopedale, Mass.) ranks 11th in the nation with a .918 save percentage. He owns a 6-4-5 record in net, and a 2.51 goals against average.

The Statesmen will host Elmira on Feb. 9 at 7 p.m. for an ECAC West contest in The Cooler, before traveling to Elmira the next day. Fans unable to attend the games can listen live on WEOS-FM (89.7/90.3 in Geneva, 88.1 in Ithaca) or log on to web.hws.edu/statesmen/hockey/schedule.asp and click on the live coverage link. Hobart will wrap up its regular season schedule on Feb. 17 when it hosts Utica at 4 p.m.
