February 5, 2002

GENEVA, N.Y.-The Eastern College Athletic Conference has named Hobart College hockey player Kevin Coakley (Tilton/Duxbury, Mass.) to the ECAC West Honor Roll. The center scored his team-leading 10th goal of the season against the second-ranked RIT Tigers on Feb. 2.

Coakley has played in all 20 of the Statesmen's games this season. The first-year is Hobart's fourth leading scorer with 10 goals and five assists for 15 points. The goals are the most by a Statesmen rookie since Jerry Toomey '01 netted 13 during the 1997-98 campaign. Coakley has registered at least a point in 11 games this season, including three multiple-point contests.

Hobart (7-13-0, 2-3-0 ECAC West) opens a four-game homestand when RIT comes to the Geneva Recreation Complex on Feb. 6, for a 7 p.m. face-off. Three of the Statesmen's final five games are against ranked opponents, No. 2 RIT, No. 8 Elmira, and No. 10 Manhattanville.
