Lammers departs Hobart for Division I

Jason Lammers

September 5, 2002

GENEVA, N.Y.—Hobart College Assistant Ice Hockey Coach Jason Lammers recently accepted a similar position with the Division I program at Clarkson University.

“It wasn’t a surprise to me to see Jason advance quickly,” Hobart Head Coach Mark Taylor said. “He is going to do well in the coaching ranks and I feel this was a great move for Jason and Clarkson hockey.

“I know Coach Lammers will have a special spot in his heart for Hobart hockey and especially the players he became close to here.”

In his first season with the Statesmen, Lammers helped Taylor and the Statesmen produce the team’s best record since the 1992-93 season, recording a 10-16-0 mark. Prior to joining the Hobart staff, Lammers spent the 2000-01 season as a volunteer assistant coach with the Golden Knights.

“One of our motto’s here is to take our hockey as far as we can,” Taylor said. “If this means as a team we win a championship and or as individuals players, coaches, and staff we go on to higher levels, then we’re being successful in our development.

“The Hobart hockey family is excited for Jason and we wish him well at Clarkson.”
