November 6, 2003 GENEVA, N.Y.Hobart College junior Adam Lavelle (Chelmsford, Mass.) was recently named the ECAC West Hockey Goaltender of the Week after helping the Statesmen to a 1-0-1 opening weekend at the Buffalo State Invitational. Lavelle made a combined 44 saves and posted a .880 save percentage to lead Hobart to a 2-2 tie with Fredonia and a 6-4 win over Buffalo State, earning him All-Tournament honors for the second consecutive season. He grabbed 21 saves in the season opener with Fredonia and made 23 stops the following night to lead Hobart to its first victory of the season over Buffalo State. The all-time winningest goalie in Hobart hockey history with 25 wins, he needs just 154 saves to surpass Chris Connolly 01 as the career saves leader. At his pace of 21 saves per game he will do so on Dec. 13, at Potsdam. Hobart hits the ice again on Nov. 8, hosting Humber College of Toronto, Canada at the Geneva Recreation Complex at 4 p.m. |
