GENEVA, N.Y.—Hobart junior midfielder Nate Molinari (Oswego/Oswego, N.Y.) was named the ECAC Riddell Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week by the conference office this afternoon. He led the Statesmen to a 16-10 victory over Rutgers University on March 26.

Molinari, who recorded two points in each of the first three quarters, finished the day with two goals, a game-high five assists, and a game-high six ground balls to lead Hobart to its first ECAC Lacrosse League victory. His five assists, six ground balls, and seven points are all career-highs, while Hobart’s 16 goals are the most allowed by the Scarlet Knights since May 5, 2002.

The win propelled Hobart up three spots in the Inside Lacrosse Media Poll to No. 10, marking the first time the Statesmen have been ranked in the top-10 since 1998. That season saw Hobart start the season 8-0 and climb as high as No. 8 in the USILA Coaches Poll. The Statesmen moved up two spots in this week’s USILA Geico/STX Coaches Poll to No. 12.

Hobart is back in action at 7:05 p.m., on March 29, when the Syracuse Orange visit McCooey Field. A capacity crowd is expected for the 20th Kraus-Simmons Trophy game. Fans are encouraged to arrive early to ensure a seat in the grandstand. The game will be televised live by Time Warner Sports Channel in the Syracuse/Central New York area. College Sports Televisition (CSTV) will air the game on a tape delay basis at 1 p.m., on April 2.
