GENEVA, N.Y.—Hobart first-year attackman Daryl Veltman (Salisbury School/Georgetown, Ontario) was named the ECAC Lacrosse League Rookie of the Week by the conference office this afternoon. He scored a game-high eight points in the Statesmen’s 19-13 loss at Penn State.

Veltman scored the most points in one game by an ECAC player this season, netting four goals and assisting on four others. His goals, assists, and points totals are all career-highs. Veltman’s eight points are the most by a Statesman since Feb. 23, 2003, when John Bogosian ’03 recorded eight points (6-2) against Butler.

Veltman leads Hobart with 18 goals and is second in assists (11) and points (29) and ranks fourth in the conference in goals, fifth in assists, and third in points.

Hobart (5-4) returns to action at 1 p.m. on April 16, when 10th-ranked UMass visits Boswell Field. As the final weekend home game, the contest will serve as Hobart’s Senior Day. The Class of 2005 will be honored prior to the start of the game.
