Former Hobart football and lacrosse standout Tim Booth '03, a native of Waterloo, N.Y., recently signed with the San Jose Stealth of the National Lacrosse League. A four-year veteran of Major League Lacrosse (the outdoor game), Booth will make his indoor debut on Jan. 5, against the Rochester Knighthawks.

Booth is a former third round selection (26th overall) by the Knighthawks in 2003. Over the past four seasons—the first three with Rochester and the 2006 campaign with the San Francisco Dragons—Booth has played in 55 games, scoring 22 goals, including six two-point goals, and handed out three assists for 31 points. At the faceoff X, he has won 50.3 percent (479-952) and has scooped up 156 ground balls.

"Tim is a gritty two way player who will add a quality face-off man to our lineup, as well as providing solid defense and the ability to score goals," said Stealth Assistant General Manager Doug Locker. "Tim is a tough hard nosed athlete who we feel will do well in the NLL."

Booth completed his collegiate career with 40 goals, 17 assists, 255 ground balls, and a 459-354 faceoff record. A two-time first-team All-Patriot League selection, he helped Hobart to Patriot League Championships and NCAA Tournament appearances in 2000 and 2002. As a senior, Booth scored a career-high 22 points (17-5), while winning 146 of 261 faceoffs and collecting a team-high 75 ground balls.

An exceptional two-sport athlete, Booth also excelled on the gridiron. He completed his football career with 163 tackles, 11 interceptions, and 10 sacks, earning the 2002 Liberty League Defensive Player of the Year Award. Booth was also a three-time All-Liberty League and All-ECAC Northwest selection, while garnering D3football.com All-American honorable mention.
