Jeff Colburn

GENEVA, N.Y.—Hobart first-year Jeff Colburn (Cicero-North Syracuse/Liverpool, N.Y.) was named the ECAC Lacrosse League Rookie of the Week by the conference office this afternoon.

An attackman, Colburn scored the first two goals of his collegiate career in the Statesmen’s 13-8 win over Ohio State. With Hobart trailing 3-0 at the start of the second quarter, he scored the team’s first goal, jump-starting a run of five unanswered tallies. He also closed out the run with his second score, giving Hobart a 5-3 edge.

The Statesmen will make their home debut on March 11, when they host the University of Hartford on McCooey Field. Faceoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
