GENEVA, N.Y.—Sophomore midfielder Sean Murphy (Bishop Timon-St. Jude/Buffalo, N.Y.) was named the Rochester Area College Athletics Co-Male Athlete of the Week after leading the Hobart College lacrosse team to a season-opening win against Bucknell University.
Murphy stung the Bison for four points on a game-high three goals and an assist. He completed his first collegiate hat trick with 4:02 remaining and the Statesmen clinging to a 9-8 lead. After just one game, Murphy is already halfway to his 2005 point total.
Hobart is back in action on March 4, when the Statesmen square off with the Ohio State Buckeyes (0-2) at HERSHEYPARK Stadium in Hershey, Pa. Faceoff is scheduled for 2 p.m.
