Jamie Kirk

GENEVA, N.Y.—For the second time this spring, Hobart College junior Jamie Kirk (Salisbury School/Orangeville, Ontario) was named the Rochester Area College Athletics (RACA) Co-Male Athlete of the Week, after leading the Statesmen lacrosse team to an 11-10 upset of 17th-ranked Fairfield last weekend.

An attackman, Kirk assisted on four goals and scored two fourth-quarter goals, including the game winner, against the Stags. The assists pushed his season total to 28, the most in a single season by any Statesman since Hobart moved to Division I. It took Nate Hill ’05 16 games to establish the record of 26 in 2004, and took Kirk just eight to break it. He and classmate Daryl Veltman (Salisbury School/Georgetown, Ontario) have teamed up for 19 goals this season, with Kirk assisting on 17 of them.

The Statesmen will be in action again on April 7 when they travel to Penn State for an ECAC Lacrosse League game at 1 p.m.
