GENEVA, N.Y.—Hobart College junior Jamie Kirk (Salisbury School/Orangeville, Ontario) was recently named the Rochester Area College Athletics (RACA) Tri-Male Athlete of the Week after leading the Hobart College lacrosse team against a tough Bucknell squad last weekend.
An attackman, Kirk scored once and assisted on seven of the Statesmen’s 10 goals in a hard-fought 11-10 overtime loss to the Bison. He recorded the most assists in a game by a Hobart player since 2001, when John Bogosian set up seven goals on March 24, 2001, against Lehigh. Kirk’s performance also marked the first time a Statesman had tallied eight points in a game since classmate Daryl Veltman recorded eight against Canisius last season.
Kirk is a transfer from Vermont, where he played two seasons for the Catamounts. He finished last season ranked second in the America East Conference and eighth in the nation in assists.
On March 3, the Statesmen (0-2) will host Binghamton (0-1) in their home-opener on McCooey Field at 1 p.m.
