May 29, 2003 GENEVA, N.Y.Senior goalie Mike Borsz (West Genesee/Camillus, N.Y.) has been selected to the North roster for the STX/USILA North-South Classic Division I All-Star Game at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Conn., on June 7. Faceoff for the Division I game is set for 3 p.m. Tim Booth (Waterloo/Waterloo, N.Y.) could join him at the 62nd annual event. The senior midfielder was tabbed an alternate for the Norths roster. A three-year starter in goal, Borsz is a two-time All-Patriot League second-team selection. He posted a season-high 19 stops in the season finale at Cornell, earning the leagues Defensive Player of the Week Award. Borsz finished the year with .568 save percentage and a 10.17 goals against average. For his career, he ranks fourth with 473 saves, while sporting a .561 save percentage and a 10.17 GAA. Considered one of the top faceoff specialists in the nation, Booth is a two-time first-team All-Patriot League selection. In addition to scoring a career-high 22 points this season (15-7), he won 55.9 percent of his faceoffs (146-of-261). He led Hobart in ground balls for the third straight season, collecting 75 to raise his career total to 255. Booth ranked 12th in Division I in ground balls per game and 19th in faceoff winning percentage this season. Excluding this seasons selections, 89 Statesmen have participated in the North-South Game, including three game MVPs: Chuck Warren 86, Ray Gilliam 87, and Jim Patten 92. This years events get under way with the Connecticut Select U-15 squad taking on the Hudson Valleys U-15 team in the morning, followed by the Division III North-South Game at noon.
