October 11, 2001 GENEVA, N.Y.Former Hobart College lacrosse standout Jamie Breslin was drafted by the Rochester Knighthawks of the National Lacrosse League on August 25. Breslin was taken in the eighth round by the Knighthawks. In four years on the Statesmen lacrosse squad Breslin became the only player to play four seasons at the Division I level and score over 100 points. He tallied 138 points (92-46-138), placing him 18th on the school's all-time scoring list. Breslin's 92 goals place him 15th on Hobart's career goals scored list. In 2000, the attackman earned honorable mention All-American status and was named the Patriot League Player of the Year after leading the Statesmen to a league title and an NCAA Tournament berth. This season, Breslin will serve as an assistant on the Hobart coaching staff of first-year Head Coach Matt Kerwick. Breslin is looking forward to the opportunity to play professional lacrosse. "The fact that I can represent Hobart professionally is exciting," says Breslin. "Rochester is a great team with great players and I'm really happy to be a part of it." Breslin will report to Knighthawks camp on Oct. 27, to compete for a roster spot. Rochester opens its 2001-02 NLL campaign on Nov. 24, at home against the Albany Attack at 7:30 p.m. |
