GENEVA, N.Y.—Hobart senior midfielder Brian Joy (West Genesee/Camillus, N.Y.) will represent the Statesmen in the 63rd annual USILA North-South Classic. The Division I North-South game is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m., on June 12, at Nazareth Stadium on the campus of Nazareth College in Rochester.

A tri-captain, Joy was fourth on the team in scoring with 21 points on 17 goals and four assists. He has scored at least a point in 11 of the 15 games he played in this season, including a season-high three points twice, recording a goal and two assists against Ohio State on April 17 and posting a three-goal performance in the regular season finale against Cornell on May 7.

A first-team All-Patriot League selection, Joy is the 92nd Hobart player selected to play in the North-South Classic.

Hobart finished the season, its 10th in Division I, with a 9-7 overall record. The Statesmen played their final season in the Patriot League with a 6-1 mark and a runner-up finish in the league’s postseason tournament, falling to the eventual national runner-up Navy in the title tilt, 9-8. Hobart joins the ECAC Lacrosse league for the 2005 season.

The Statesmen made their 25th NCAA Tournament appearance this season, and fourth at the Division I level, falling at ninth-ranked Cornell, 11-5, in the first round. Only Johns Hopkins (33), Maryland (27), and Virginia (27) have earned more NCAA Tournament bids.
