GENEVA, N.Y.—Hobart College placed six players on the All-Patriot League teams, including senior attackman John Bogosian (Kent School/Massena, N.Y.) and senior midfielder Tim Booth (Waterloo/Waterloo, N.Y.) who both earned first-team honors for the second straight season. Seniors Mike Borsz (West Genesee/Camillus, N.Y.), Brad Neuberth (Westminster/Riverside, Conn.), and Shawn Powers (Colonie/Albany, N.Y.) and sophomore Nate Hill (Hamburg/Hamburg, N.Y.) represented the Statesmen on the All-Patriot League second-team.

A three-time all-conference selection (second-team in 2001), Bogosian led Hobart in scoring for the third consecutive season with 33 goals and 12 assists for 45 points. No Statesman has accomplished that feat since Bill Miller ’91 led Hobart in scoring from 1989 through 1991. As of May 5, Bogosian ranks sixth in the nation in goals per game (2.54). He finished his career with 88 goals and 46 assists for 134 points. Bogosian ranks 18th in career goals, only Jamie Breslin ’01 played four seasons of Division I lacrosse and registered more markers (92).

Considered one of the top faceoff specialists in the nation, Booth earned his second first-team honor following a 22-point season (15-7), while winning 55.9 percent of his restarts (146-of-261). He also led Hobart in ground balls for the third straight season, collecting 75 to raise his career total to 255. As of May 5, Booth ranks 13th in Division I in ground balls per game (5.77) and 16th in faceoff winning percentage.

A three-year starter in goal for Hobart, Borsz garnered his second consecutive second-team honor following a 137-save season. He posted a season-high 19 stops in the season finale at Cornell, earning the league’s Defensive Player of the Week Award. Borsz finished the year with .568 save percentage and a 10.17 goals against average. For his career, he ranks fourth with 473 saves, while sporting a .561 save percentage and a 10.17 GAA.

Despite missing six games due to injury, Neuberth earned second-team recognition as a defenseman, one year removed from first-team honors at that position, while Powers, a defensive midfielder, received his first All-PL award. They were key figures in Hobart’s stifling man-down defense. The Statesmen ranked fourth in the nation in those situations, allowing just 16 extra-man goals in 73 man-down situations (.820 success rate). Neuberth recorded 23 ground balls this season and 107 for his career. Powers picked up 14 ground balls this year, and 34 over the past two seasons.

Hill, a converted attackman, started 10 games in the midfield this year. He finished the season second on the team in ground balls (48) and tied for fifth in points with 22 (11-11). A second-team All-Patriot League honoree in 2002, Hill boasts strong two-season totals: 24 goals, 34 assists, 58 points, and 74 ground balls.

Hobart finished its 101st varsity season with a 5-8 record. The Statesmen finished third in the Patriot League with a 4-2 record. Only league co-champion Army placed more players on the All-Patriot League teams this season (7). Since joining the Patriot League in 2000, Hobart has posted a 19-5 record (.792), won two league titles (2000, 2002), and has had 23 players earn All-Patriot League honors, more than any other team in the conference during that time.
