March 16, 2002 GENEVA, N.Y.The Hobart College lacrosse team sported a robust plus-50 shot margin on the afternoon, en route to a 13-2 blowout of Lafayette College in a Patriot League contest. The Statesmen got goals from 10 different players, including a hat trick from junior midfielder Tim Booth (Waterloo/Waterloo, N.Y.). Booth put Hobart (2-2, 1-1 PL) on the board midway through the opening frame, finishing a feed from first-year attackman Nate Hill (Hamburg/Hamburg, N.Y.). Hill led all scorers with five points (1-4). The Leopards (0-3, 0-1) pulled even three minutes later on the first
of two goals by junior attackman Pat Lennon (Darien/Darien, Conn.). Senior attackman Scott Harvey (Suffern/Cornwall, N.Y.) got things rolling in the second quarter, off another Hill assist. Sophomore attackman T.J. Rogers (Canandaigua/Canandaigua, N.Y.) logged his first collegiate goal at the 9:46 mark. Thirty-five seconds later, Hill was credited with the craftiest goal of the afternoon. Junior attackman John Bogosian (Kent School/Massena, N.Y.) made a great cross-crease pass to a cutting Hill. Lafayette goalie Mike Neary (Fallston/Baldwin, Md.) appeared to take away the angle on the open shot, but Hill shot behind his head, beating Neary for a 5-1 lead. Bogosian finished with two goals and two assists. First-year midfielder Nate Molinari (Oswego/Oswego, N.Y.) scored the final goal of the first half in pinball fashion at the 1:38 mark. Maneuvering in close, Molinari was hit as he attempted a shot. The ball came out off his stick awkwardly, ricocheting off a defenseman and into the cage. The Statesmen added a pair of extra-man goals to start the second half
scoring, before the Leopards finally broke their scoring drought. For the afternoon, Hobart outshot Lafayette 69-19, held a 49-34 advantage on ground balls, and won 12-of-18 faceoffs. The Statesmen converted 88 percent of their clear attempts (22-of-25), while limiting the Leopards to just 57 percent (16-of-28). Hobart returns to action on March 23, at Lehigh. Faceoff is scheduled
