He has scored at least a point in nine of the 11 games hes played in this season, including a season-high three points (1-2) against Ohio State on April 17. Another tri-captain, McCarthy is the heart of Hobarts close defense. A starter in every game hes played for the Statesmen, he is third on the team in ground balls with 37. McCarthy showcased his shutdown abilities against a pair of Tewaaraton Award candidates, limiting Armys John Walker and Navys Ian Dingman to a pair of assists each. Williamson leads Hobart in goals (28) and points (46) and is second in assists (18). Through games of April 26, he ranks 11th in the nation in points (3.83/g). He recorded a season-high six points twice this season, burning both Lehigh (5-1) and Lafayette (5-1). With at least two games remaining, Williamson is on pace to become the first Division I Statesman to record 50 points in a season. In two seasons at Hobart, he has scored 41 goals, assisted on 28 others, and collected 50 ground balls. The third tri-captain, Scanlon is fourth on the team in goals, boasting 15 goals and an assist. He scored the clincher in overtime against Penn State on April 10, one of two game-winning goals hes scored this season. Scanlon has 30 points (28-2) and 47 ground balls in 32 career games. Valente has been outstanding in his first season as a starter for the Statesmen. He ranks first in the Patriot League and 16th in the nation in save percentage (.595). As it stands now, Valentes 8.50 goals against average is the lowest by a Division I Statesman, besting Mike Borszs 10.17 GAA in 2003. Valente made a career-high 16 saves at Syracuse on March 30. Hobart is 7-5 overall, and finished the Patriot League loop with a 6-1 mark.
