Clarkson defeats Hobart, 1-0

Geneva, N.Y.—The Hobart College soccer team suffered a 1-0 setback at the hands of conference foe Clarkson University this afternoon.

Scott Marcinkowski (Roy Ketcham/Wappinger Falls) netted his first collegiate goal off the post at the 35:42 mark to provide the decisive goal.

Senior forwards Micke Subotowicz (Farsta Gymnasium/Stockholm, Sweeden) and Chris Rogers (Hebron Academy/Marietta, Ga.) provided the best scoring opportunity as they both blasted shots off the post.

First-year goalkeeper Phil DaCosta (Manchester Memorial/Manchester, N.H.) recorded a save in the loss, while Golden Knights goaltender David Hennessey turned away six Statesmen offerings.

Hobart (3-4-1,0-2LL)will welcome St. John Fisher to the friendly confines of Cozzens Field on Sept. 27 for a 4:30 p.m. start.
