DaCosta selected ECAC Upstate Goalie of the Week

GENEVA, N.Y.—Hobart College first-year Phil DaCosta (Memorial Manchester, Manchester, N.H.) was selected as the ECAC Upstate Goalkeeper of the Week for his performance during the week ending Oct. 2.
DaCosta registered 15 saves and two victories, including a shutout, in 180 minutes of action. On Sept. 27, the Liberty League Defensive Performer of the Week turned away eight St. John Fisher offerings to earn a 2-1 victory, and stopped seven Hamilton shots to shutout the 21st-ranked Continentals 3-0 on Oct. 1. He ranks among the conference leaders in four categories, including second in saves (44) and saves per game (5.50), tied for third in shutouts (2), and fifth in goal against average (0.97).
The Statesmen (5-4-1, 1-2-0 Liberty) will travel to Skidmore (7-1-2, 1-0-1) and Union (7-2-1, 2-0-0) over the weekend for a pair of key conference matches. On Oct. 7, Hobart will square off with the Thoroughbreds at 4 p.m., while the Statesmen will challenge the Dutchmen at 2 p.m. on Oct. 8.
