GENEVA, N.Y.—The Hobart College soccer team upset No. 21 Hamilton College 3-0 this afternoon on Cozzens Field. The victory improves the Statesmen record to 5-4-1 and 1-2-0 in the Liberty League, while the Continentals fall to 5-2-1 and 1-2-0.
Senior captain Micke Subotowicz (Farsta Gymnasium/Stockholm, Sweeden) tied the career assist record (26). The record was established by Jeff Saunders ’90. First-year forward Ricky Carvalho (Hollis-Brookline/Hollis, N.H.) recorded the game-winner in the 12th minute as he drilled a pass from Subotowicz past Continental goalkeeper Anthony Tripicchio (Pingry School/Clark, N.J.) into the top left corner of the net.
The Statesmen increased their lead to a 2-0 advantage at the 52:35 mark when Ben Crosky (Mountain Greylock Regional/Williamstown, Mass.) headed in his third goal of the season off a crossing pass from first-year defensemen Devin Wilder (The Loomis Chaffee School/Storrs, Conn.).
Senior forward John Rosenbaum (Stockholm/Sundbyberg, Sweeden) gathered a through pass from junior forward Tucker Crockett (Episcopal Academy/Rosemont, Pa.) and ripped his third goal of the season past Tripicchio to provide Hobart with an insurance goal in the 72nd minute.
