Klotz nabs Liberty League weekly award
October 18, 2004
GENEVA, N.Y.—Hobart College senior forward Ricky Klotz (Homer/Cortland, N.Y.) was named the Liberty League Soccer Co-Offensive Performer of the Week earlier today.
Klotz netted a pair of goals, including the game-winner, to lead the Statesmen to a 3-2 overtime victory over Nazareth this past weekend. He leads all Statesmen in scoring and is second in the Liberty League with 10 goals and two assists for 22 points, while his three game-winners are tied for first in the League.
With his two scores against the Golden Flyers, Klotz moved up to second on both the career goals (38) and points (85) lists at Hobart. He is six goals shy of matching Jeff Saunders ’92 as the Statesmen’s all-time top goal scorer.
Hobart (5-9-0) returns to action this weekend in its final two Liberty League contests. The Statesmen will host Clarkson on Oct. 22, at 4 p.m., and eighth-ranked St. Lawrence the following afternoon at 2 p.m.
