GENEVA, N.Y.—The Hobart College soccer team had two players selected to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-Northeast teams. Senior forward Ricky Klotz (Homer/Cortland, N.Y.) was selected to the second-team, while junior forward Micke Subotowicz (Farsta Gymnasium/Stockholm, Sweden) earned third-team recognition.

Garnering All-Northeast honors for the third consecutive year, Klotz led the Statesmen and was second in the Liberty League in scoring with 12 goals and two assists for 26 points. A two-time All-Liberty League first-team selection, he tallied at least two goals in five contests and notched a season-high three scores in a win over Skidmore.

In 2003, Klotz helped the Statesmen earn their first postseason berth in 10 years as the top seed in the ECAC Tournament. His 14 goals and 33 points last season rank fifth and sixth, respectively, on Hobart’s single season lists.

Excelling in the classroom as well, Klotz was recently named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America team. He finishes his career ranked second on both the career goals (40) and points list (89), behind 2002 Hobart Hall of Fame Inductee Jeff Saunders ’92.

A three-time NSCAA All-Region selection as well, Subotowicz led the team in assists (6) and was second in goals (8) and points (22). In his second season as a striker he tallied at least one point in nine games and had at least two points in seven of those contests, including a five-point outburst against Union.

The 2003 Liberty League Player of the Year, Subotowicz’s 34 points (12-10) that year rank fifth on the single season scoring list, while his 10 assists are tied for third.

For his career, Subotowicz ranks second in career assists with 23, and is just four shy of surpassing Saunders, while his 69 career points (23-23) ranks sixth.

Hobart finished the 2004 season 5-12-0 overall and 2-5-0 in Liberty League play.
