GENEVA, N.Y.—Senior defensemen Jamie Smith (Cheshire/Cheshire, Conn.) earned a spot on the Liberty League Men’s Soccer All-Academic Team this season.

The Statesmen captain, who has started all 14 games this year, anchors Hobart’s defensive unit. His experience and innate leadership skills have molded a young Statesmen squad into an aggressive unit.

Student-athletes from the Liberty League earned a place on the team based on the following criteria: at least a sophomore academic standing, and at least a 3.2 cumulative grade point average.

Hobart (5-7-2, 1-4-0 Liberty League) will welcome conference foe Vassar College (3-6-3, 0-3-2) to Cozzens Field on Oct. 21 for a 4 p.m. start.
