5 named to Men’s Soccer All-Academic Team

GENEVA, N.Y. — Five Hobart College soccer players were recently named to the Liberty League All-Academic Team. The Statesmen recorded one of their best seasons ever, posting a 12-4-3 mark and advancing to the second round of the NCAA Tournament for the first time in the program’s history.
To earn a spot on the Liberty League All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.2, and be at least a sophomore academically. The following Statesmen were named to the All-Academic Team:
• Sophomore John Catillaz (Victor Central/Victor, N.Y.)*
• Sophomore Keenan Simons (Cardinal Mooney/Bradenton, Fla.)*
• Senior Jamie Smith (Cheshire/Cheshire, Conn.), political science major
• Sophomore Pete Van Dellon (Webster Thomas/Webster, N.Y.)*
• Junior Brad Weinberg (Marcellus/Marcellus, N.Y.), economics major
* Hobart College students are not required to declare a major until the second semester of their sophomore year.
