September 26, 2005

ROCHESTER, N.Y.—The 14th-ranked Hobart soccer team defeated St. John Fisher College 1-0 in a non-conference game tonight. The Statesmen improved to 8-1-0, while the Cardinals dropped to 1-8-0.

The game remained scoreless until the 78th minute of play, when Hobart senior Tucker Crockett (Episcopal Academy/Rosemont, Pa.) netted his second goal of the season off a pass from classmate Ben Crosky (Mountain Greylock Regional/Williamstown, Mass.).

Sophomore goalkeeper Pete Van Dellon (Webster Thomas/Webster, N.Y.) tallied six saves and recorded his third shutout of the season to help the Hobart cause.

The Statesmen will return to play on Sept. 30 when they travel to Hamilton for a Liberty League game at 2 p.m.
