September 17, 2001 GENEVA, N.Y.--The Upstate Collegiate Athletic Association named junior goalie Cory Rosier (Liverpool/Liverpool, N.Y.) its Defender of the Week for the week ending Sept. 16. He helped the Statesmen end a three game winless streak and helped Head Coach Shawn Griffin notch his 100th win. Rosier returned from a knee injury to make four saves in a 3-0 win over Vassar College on Sunday. The shutout was his first of the season and the ninth of his career. The junior is 2-0-1 this season with a goals against average of 0.60 and an .882 save percentage. Hobart (2-1-2, 1-0-0) is on the road for two games this week. The Statesmen
travel to Utica College for a 4 p.m. game on Sept. 19, and head to Nazareth
on Sept. 22, for a 1 p.m. contest. Hobart shutout the Pioneers 4-0 and
dropped a 1-0 decision to the Golden Flyers last season. |
