January 22 , 20054

GENEVA, N.Y.—The Hobart College squash team rallied from a 4-1 deficit to beat Amherst College, 5-4, this morning at the Dr. Frank P. Smith ’36 Squash Center. The 12th-ranked Statesmen improve to 9-2 overall, while the 14th-ranked Jeffs fall to 3-5 on the season.

Breezing past their opponents 3-0 were sophomore Tucker Crockett (Episcopal Academy/Rosemont, Pa.) and senior Henry Clutsam (Blair Academy/New Vernon, N.J.) at the No. 5 and No. 6 positions, respectively.

Playing in the No. 1 and No. 3 spots, respectively, seniors Tejvir Rathore (Daly College/Indore, M.P. India) and Andrew Scott (St. George’s School/Dorset, Vt.) both turned in solid performances, winning 3-1.

However, the most exciting and crucial match of the morning came from senior Freddy Cook (St. George’s School/Greenwich, Conn.). Down 2-1 and 8-7 in what could have been the deciding set, he battled back to win the match 3-2 (9-5, 6-9, 0-9, 10-9, 9-0).

The Statesmen return to action on Jan. 26, hosting Liberty League opponent Hamilton, at 6 p.m., at the Smith Squash Center.
