Patni collects Liberty League weekly award

GENEVA, N.Y.—Hobart College sophomore Prateek Patni (Daly College/Indore, M.P., India) was named the Liberty League Squash Co-Performer of the Week this afternoon after leading the Statesmen to their second consecutive conference title.
Patni posted a 4-0 record in the second position, losing just one game in those four matches. He dropped just three points in his opening match against Gen Izumida of Rochester, winning 3-0 (9-2, 9-1, 9-0). In Hobart’s afternoon match with Vassar, Patni continued his dominance with a 3-0 (9-3, 9-3, 9-0) victory over his Greg Kantrowitz. Conceding just one point, 3-0 (9-1, 9-0, 9-0) against Hamilton’s Rick Mayfield, Patni faced his toughest competition against Keith Merrill of St. Lawrence, winning 3-1 (3-9, 9-6, 9-0, 9-5). He has won his past seven matches and sports an overall record of 7-1.
Hobart is 7-1 overall and will be back in action on Dec. 5, hosting Franklin & Marshall at 11 a.m., at the Smith Squash Center.
