Statesmen win ambassadorial showdown

 

December 5 , 2004

GENEVA, N.Y.—The Hobart College Statesmen squash team defeated the visiting Franklin & Marshal College Diplomats 7-2 at the Smith Squash Center this afternoon. The victory extends the Statesmen’s win streak to eight matches.

Senior Andrew Scott (St. George’s School/Dorset, Vt.), junior Gavin Johnstone-Butcher (St. Paul’s School (N.H.)/Bulawayo, Zimbabwe), senior Freddy Cook (St. George’s School/Greenwich, Conn.), sophomore Tucker Crockett (Episcopal Academy/Rosemont, Pa.), senior Henry Clutsam (Blair Academy/New Vernon, N.J.), junior Mike Tien (Towson/Baltimore, Md.), and senior Colman Currie (St. George’s School/London, England) captured victories in the three through nine spots to improve Hobart’s record to 8-1.

The Statesmen don’t return to action until Jan. 21, 2005.
