GENEVA, N.Y.—Hobart College Squash Head Coach Carol Weymuller was named the 2005 Liberty League Coach of the Year in a vote of her peers, after leading the Statesmen to their second consecutive conference championship. Hobart also placed four student-athletes on the All-Liberty League first-team, while three others earned honorable mention.

Senior Tejvir Rathore (Daly College/Indore, India), senior Andrew Scott (St. George’s School/Dorset, Vt.), junior Gavin Johnstone-Butcher (St. Paul’s School/Bulawayo, Zimbabwe), and sophomore Prateek Patni (Daly College/Indore, India) garnered first-team honors, while senior Henry Clutsam (Blair Academy/New Vernon, N.J.), senior Freddy Cook (St. George’s School/Greenwich, Conn.), and sophomore Tucker Crockett (Episcopal Academy/Rosemont, Pa.) received honorable mention.

Weymuller, who was Coach of the Year in 2004 as well, led Hobart to a 14-9 record this season, one win shy of the school record set by the 2003-04 Statesmen (15-9). The Statesmen breezed to their second Liberty League crown without dropping more than two points in any of their four matches. Weymuller, who is the College’s all-time leader in wins (108), guided Hobart to a fourth place finish in the Hoehn Division of the 2005 College Squash Association Team Championships.

Rathore posted a 13-14 record this season, playing in the No. 1 position for the Statesmen. Against Liberty League opponents, he was 4-2, avenging both of his early season losses with wins later in the year. The two-time first-team All-Liberty League selection completed his collegiate career with a 57-39 record (.594).

Scott, who played in the No. 3 position this season, posted a career-best 15-8 record, including a 5-0 mark against Liberty League opponents. He was named the Liberty League Performer of the Week on Dec. 5, after helping the Statesmen to a 7-2 win over 16th-ranked Franklin & Marshall. An honorable mention All-Liberty League pick in 2004, Scott finished his career with a 34-30 record (.531).

Playing primarily in the No. 4 position, Johnstone-Butcher compiled a 15-8 record this season, including an unblemished 5-0 mark against conference foes. A two-time first-team All-Liberty League selection, he sports a 43-24 record through three seasons.

Patni, who has played in the No. 2 position for the Statesmen since arriving on campus, posted a 10-13 record this season. He was undefeated in five matches against Liberty League opponents. The two-time All-Liberty League selection sports a 19-26 record over the past two seasons.

Clutsam, a 2004 first-team selection, compiled a 10-5 record this season after missing the first month of the season due to injury. Playing in the middle of the lineup, he completed his career with an impressive 53-27 record (.663).

Playing throughout the middle of Hobart’s lineup this season, Cook posted a team-best 18-5 record. He also earned All-Liberty League honorable mention last season. Over the past four seasons, Cook notched a 54-30 record (.643).

A two-time All-Liberty League honorable mention selection, Crockett was 13-10 this season playing in the middle of Hobart’s lineup. He is 30-17 (.638) over the past two seasons.
