GENEVA, N.Y.—The Hobart College squash team had two players receive Liberty League honors this afternoon. Sophomore Cale Forgues (Ridley College/Kemptville, Ontartio) was named the league’s Performer of the Week, while first-year Nick Pearson (Chestnut Hill Academy/Philadelphia, Pa.) was named Rookie of the Week.

The Statesmen currently have a 2-2 overall record, after traveling to Navy last weekend to take on four teams. Hobart downed Haverford (8-1) and George Washington (8-1), but dropped matches to Denison (0-9) and Navy (0-9).

Both Forgues and Pearson went 2-2 on the weekend. Forgues played in the No. 1 spot in all four contests, defeating Alex Saltoni from Haverford (3-0) and Matt Grossman from George Washington (3-0). Pearson, who played at No. 2, downed Jason Bazarsky (3-0) and Matt Collins (3-0), also from Haverford and GWU, respectively.

The Statesmen will be back in action on Nov. 18-19 when they travel to Hamilton for the Liberty League Championships.
