GENEVA, N.Y.—Hobart College first-year Nick Pearson (Chestnut Hill Academy/Philadelphia, Pa.) was voted the 2006-07 Liberty League Men's Squash Rookie of the Year by the conference's coaches. He was joined on the All-Liberty League team by senior Prateek Patni (Daly College/Indore, India) and sophomore Cale Forgues (Ridley College/Kemptville, Ontario).

A five-time Liberty League Rookie of the Week, Pearson played in the No. 2, No. 3, and No. 4 positions this season. He had an overall record of 15-9, including a 12-3 mark at No. 3, leading the Statesmen in wins and winning percentage. Pearson was 5-1 against Liberty League opponents and his eight-match win streak between Nov. 18 and Jan. 13 was the longest by a Hobart student-athlete this season.

A four-time All-Liberty League selection, Patni played No. 3 for the first weekend of the season, moved up to No. 2 for the conference championship weekend, and played all of 2007 at No. 1. He posted a 9-15 overall record, including a 4-1 mark at No. 2 and a 2-2 mark at No. 3. Patni was a four-year starter for the Statesmen, never playing lower than No. 3 while compiling a 38-56 career record against some of the top players in the nation.

Last season's Liberty League Rookie of the Year, Forgues was twice named the conference Performer of the Week this season. He played No. 1 (3-6) for Hobart before the New Year and No. 2 (3-8) after, winning all three of his matches at the College Squash Association (CSA) Team Championships. The two-time All-Liberty League pick has a 15-27 record after two seasons.

Against a demanding schedule, Hobart was 7-17 overall this season, but finished the year with three straight wins at the CSA Team Championships, capturing the Conroy Trophy and earn a No. 25 national ranking.
