Statesmen squash place 4 on All-Academic Team

GENEVA, N.Y.—Four Hobart College squash student-athletes were recently named to the 2006-07 Liberty League All-Academic Team.

To earn a spot on the Liberty League All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.2 and be at least a sophomore academically. The following Statesmen were named to the All-Academic Team:

• Senior John Keating (Mainland/Linwood, N.J.), environmental studies major

• Sophomore Kenny O’Connor (Trinity-Pawling School/Pawling, N.Y.), undeclared

• Senior Brian Shiver (Delbarton School/Morristown, N.J.), international relations major

• Sophomore Ian Barton (Proctor Academy/North Andover, Mass.), undeclared

Hobart stands at 4-11 overall with six regular season matches remaining. The Statesmen will be in action again on Jan. 27 when they host Amherst and Dartmouth at the Smith Squash Center. Hobart will take on the Lord Jeffs at 10 a.m., before meeting the Big Green at 4 p.m.
