Patni participates in CSA Individual Championships

AMHERST, Mass.—Hobart College junior Prateek Patni (Daly College/Indore, India) advanced to the quarterfinals of the consolation bracket in the Molloy Draw of the College Squash Association Individual Championships hosted by Amherst College over the weekend.

In the opening round of the 32-player field, Patni lost to George Washington’s Greg Vernick 3-0 (9-4, 9-1, 9-6). The Statesmen’s top player rebounded in the first round of the consolation bracket against Middlebury’s JP Sardi. After dropping the initial game 4-9, Patni stormed back to win the match 3-1 (9-2, 9-3, 9-5). Against Dartmouth’s Adam Slutsky in the quarterfinals, Patni dropped a hard fought match 9-3, 10-9, 9-6.

Patni finished the season with a 10-15 overall record, the most individual wins on the team.

Hobart completed the 2005-06 campaign with an overall record of 5-17, winning its final two contests at the CSA Team Championships.
