December 8, 2003 GENEVA, N.Y.Hobart College squash player Andy Conrad (Millbrook School/Haverford, Pa.) recently was named the Upstate Collegiate Athletic Association Rookie of the Week. This is the second time he has captured the weekly honor this season. Conrad improved to a perfect 8-0 last week, dropping Rochesters Jay Acharya 3-1 (9-1, 9-5, 3-9, 9-3) in the No. 7 position, as the Statesmen beat the Yellowjackets 7-2. Playing primarily in the No. 8 and No. 9 spots, he has lost just three games all year. Hobart is 7-1 overall, with its lone loss coming against Franklin & Marshall. The Statesmen breezed through the UCAA Championships, sacrificing just one game in four matches to capture the inaugural UCAA title. Hobart returns to action on Jan. 16, traveling to Wesleyan for a contest at 4 p.m. |
