January 19, 2004 Cook posted a 4-0 record this weekend in a 2-2 showing for the Statesmen to keep his record unblemished on the season at 12-0. Playing in the No. 7 position, he began the weekend with a dominating 3-0 win (9-3, 9-0, 9-2) over Wesleyans Umay Suanda in a 9-0 Hobart win. The following morning Cook posted another 3-0 win (9-3, 9-4, 9-2) over No. 18 Colbys Andy Carr. Later that afternoon against 14th-ranked Bates, he notched a grueling, come-from-behind 3-2 win (6-9, 5-9, 9-1, 9-3, 9-2) over Alex Wolff. Cook completed his weekend sweep with a 3-1 win (9-0, 8-10, 9-4, 9-2) over No. 15 Bowdoins Eric Toan. Crockett improved his collegiate record to 10-2 with four victories on the weekend. Playing in the No. 6 position, he cruised to a 3-0 win (9-0, 9-1, 10-8) over Wesleyans Omair Sarwar. The following morning Crockett posted another 3-0 win (9-5, 9-3, 9-6) over Colbys Sam Weeks. Later that afternoon, he too notched a grueling, come-from-behind 3-2 win (5-9, 4-9, 9-5, 9-2, 10-8) over Bates Pete Goldborogh. Crockett completed his weekend sweep with a 3-0 win (9-0, 10-8, 10-8) over Bowdoins Chris Metcalf. The Hobart squash team is 9-3 this season. The Statesmen return to action on Jan. 24, at 4 p.m., at Dartmouth. |
