February 2, 2004 GENEVA, N.Y.The 15th-ranked Hobart squash team made short work of 25th-ranked Hamilton in its lone match last week, and two Statesmen earned weekly honors from the league for their efforts. Senior Richard Reutter (Woodberry Forest/Annapolis, Md.) and first-year Tucker Crockett (Episcopal Academy/Rosemont, Pa.) were named the leagues Performer and Rookie of the Week, respectively. Reutter continued his outstanding play in his swan song season, topping Peter Bartholomaus at No. 9, 3-0 (9-1, 9-0, 9-0). The win raised Reutters record to 12-4 (.750) on the season and improved his career mark to 27-18 (.600). Crockett, meanwhile, won in the quickest way possible, topping John Frazier at No. 5, 3-0 (9-0, 9-0, 9-0). The win raised Crocketts collegiate record to 12-4. Crockett was also named the UCAA Rookie of the Week for the week ending Jan. 18. Hobarts 9-0 win over Hamilton improved the teams record to 10-6, marking the fourth consecutive season the Statesmen had reached the 10-win plateau. Hobart returns to action at 6:30 p.m., on Feb. 4, when the Colgate Red Raiders visit the Frank P. Smith 36 Squash Center. |
