February 5, 2004

GENEVA, N.Y.—Hobart College Tennis Head Coach Carol Weymuller has announced that senior Trevor McAndrew (Northfield Mt. Hermon/Westerly, R.I.) and junior Peter Piné (Princeton/Princeton, N.J.) will serve as captains for the 2004 season.

McAndrew compiled a 13-7 singles record in 2002-03, primarily playing in the third position. Helping the Statesmen win their second Flower City Tournament title in three years this past fall, he sports a 41-25 career record and has been a fixture in the top-four spots for Hobart.

Holding the top position in singles for the past two seasons, Piné turned in a career best 22-5 record last year, capturing the 2003 Rochester Invitational title and advancing to the semifinals of the 2003 Intercollegiate Tennis Association Northeast Regional Championships. Compiling a 40-13 singles record during his career he earned UCAA Rookie of the Year honors in 2001.

Joining forces in the No. 1 doubles spot last year, McAndrew and Piné were 8-7 and brought home a second place finish in the ITA Regional Championships this past fall.

Returning the majority of their top players, the Statesmen begin the 2004 season on their spring break trip to Hilton Head, S.C., on March 12-20. Hobart opens the trip with Georgetown (Ky.) College, on March 14, at 11 a.m.
