Statesmen tennis takes 6th in Liberty League Tourney

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y.—The Hobart tennis team finished sixth in the 2006 Liberty League Championship Tournament in the Walker Field House. The Statesmen, who entered the weekend seeded seventh, lost to No. 2 Vassar 4-1 in the quarterfinals, upset No. 6 Rensselaer 4-0 in the consolation semifinal, and lost to No. 5 Union 4-2 in the fifth place match.

Sophomore Charlie Davis (Manlius-Pebble Hill School/Cazenovia, N.Y.) completed the season with a team-high 11 singles win (11-12), while first-year James Micheroni (Sharon/Sharon, Mass.), senior Adam Raffa (Concord-Carlisle/Concord, Mass.), and junior Matt Silver (Weston/Weston, Conn.) tied for second on the squad with seven singles wins each.

Hobart finished the season with a 6-15 record.
