Ithaca sneaks past Hobart tennis

GENEVA, N.Y.—The Hobart tennis team lost a 4-3 match to visiting Ithaca College in the Bristol Field House tonight.
The Statesmen (3-11) got off to a good start, winning the doubles point. First-year James Micheroni (Sharon/Sharon, Mass.) and senior Adam Raffa (Concord-Carlisle/Concord, Mass.) won at first singles 9-7 and junior Ronny Koenig (Roslyn/Roslyn, N.Y.) and sophomore Charlie Davis (Manlius-Pebble Hill School/Cazenovia, N.Y.) were victorious 8-5 at No. 2.
Hobart sophomore Nick Raho (Wheeler School/Providence, R.I.) overcame a 6-4 first set loss to capture fifth singles 6-2, 6-4. Koenig got the Statesmen to three points with a 6-3, 7-5 win at No. 6, but the Bombers (4-9) swept the top four singles matches to secure the win.
Hobart is back in action on April 8, when Skidmore visits Geneva. The match is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
