GENEVA, N.Y.--The Hobart College tennis team lost to visiting College of New Jersey 7-0 in the Bristol Field House this afternoon. The Lions came into the match ranked eighth in the Northeast Region.
The Statesmen tandem of senior Adam Raffa (Concord-Carlisle/Concord, Mass.) and first-year James Micheroni (Sharon/Sharon, Mass.) won at first doubles 8-4 over Ryan Carty and Corey Ball, the eighth-ranked doubles team in the region. However, the Lions took No. 2 and No. 3 to secure the doubles point.
Micheroni came the closest to posting a singles win, falling in three sets to Carty, the region's No. 8 singles player, 6-2, 3-6, 7-6 (7-3).
Hobart (2-9) returns to action on March 29, when the Statesmen host Nazareth at 4 p.m.
