Hobart to host Liberty League Tennis Tourney

GENEVA, N.Y.—Hobart College will welcome five teams to campus this weekend when it hosts the Liberty League Men’s Tennis Tournament April 21-22. Action begins at 9 a.m. on Saturday.
Defending Liberty League champion Skidmore (9-4) is seeded first in the tournament, followed by No. 2 Vassar (10-4), No. 3 St. Lawrence (9-4), No. 4 Hobart (9-9), No. 5 Union (1-1), and No. 6 Rensselaer (4-2).
The Statesmen and Dutchmen will square off at 9 a.m. at the HWS Tennis Center (outdoor courts) on Saturday, while the Red Hawks and Saints will meet in Bristol Field House. The winners will go on to face the top-seeded Thoroughbreds and second-seeded Brewers, respectively, at 2 p.m. On Sunday, the championship match will take place at noon.
The Statesmen have won six of their last nine matches and are seeking their first league title since 2004, the last time Hobart hosted the tournament.
