GENEVA, N.Y.—The Hobart College tennis team had three of its members honored at the 42nd Annual Block H Awards Banquet April 30. Senior Matt Silver (Weston/Weston, Conn.), junior Charlie Davis (Manlius Pebble Hill School/Cazenovia, N.Y.), and sophomore Adam Cohn (Hawken School/Highland Heights, Ohio) all received awards.

The Myron V. Jacobs ’37 Award was presented to Silver, for his excellence as a player and as a citizen of the Colleges’ community. Silver ranked third on the team in wins this winter with nine, with the majority of his wins coming at second singles. He boasts an undefeated mark at third singles, and teamed up with sophomore James Micheroni (Sharon/Sharon, Mass.) for nine wins at No. 1 doubles. An ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District selection, Silver closed out his career with a 45-31 singles record.

Davis was honored with the William A. Walley ’61 Trophy for good sportsmanship, team work, individual play, and leadership. He led the team in wins this season posting a 14-7 record, mostly at No. 4 singles. Davis closed out his junior season with a 35-29 career mark.

The Rookie Award for Tennis went to Cohn. He stepped into a role at fifth singles this year after missing last season. Cohn recorded a 6-5 mark at No. 5, and also played a few matches at fourth singles.
