Hobart tennis continues hot streak with win over Hamilton

GENEVA, N.Y.—The Hobart tennis team won for the fifth time in its past seven matches, knocking off Hamilton 8-1 in the Bristol Field House. With the victory, the Statesmen even their record at 8-8, while the Continentals fall to 0-3.

Hobart started the match by sweeping all three doubles matches. The Statesmen posted convincing wins at No. 1 and No. 2, while Charlie Davis and Jamie Flanagan battled to a 9-8 (7-3) triumph at No. 3.

In singles play, Hobart earned points with straight set wins at second, fourth, fifth, and sixth singles, while taking first singles by retirement.

Siddharth Walia earned the lone point for Hamilton with a straight set win at third singles.

Hobart is back on the courts at 4 p.m. on April 13, when the Statesmen host St. Lawrence.
