August 5, 2003 GENEVA, N.Y.Two Hobart College tennis players were recently named to the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Scholar-Athlete team. Sophomore Derrick Moore (Whitesboro/Deerfield, N.Y.) and first-year Adam Raffa (Concord-Carlisle/Concord, Mass.) represented the Statesmen on the prestigious team. To earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status, a player must be a varsity letter winner, have a minimum 3.5 grade point average for the current academic year, and have been enrolled at their present institution for at least two semesters. Raffa, who was named the teams rookie of the year, posted an impressive 11-5 record in singles play. He also compiled an 8-6 mark in doubles play, while Moore played in six matches during the fall and was an important part of the teams preparation for matches during the spring. |
